This institute owns four branches (Beijing, Shanghai, Lanzhou, and Harbin) in China. It could strengthen inspection and administration mission on animal health and Epizootiology in that country.

The National Diagnoses Center for Exotic Animal Diseases is a state-class high biosafety organization aimed not only to prevent foreign animal disease from invasion and spreading to China, but also to prevent and control new emerging animal diseases, especially zoonotic disease. Such as poultry influenza, and high virulent Streptococcus Suis, which cause infection from, pig to human. Several productions of monoclonal antibody and ELISA kits and other new diagnostic reagents have been produced by this center and used widely in China.
